TECENG SUPPORTS SCIENCE-BASED OUTREACH PROGRAM FOR STUDENTS
Outreach Program Offers Educational Opportunity to Local Elementary Students
UNIONTOWN, PA — September 29, 2016 – TecEng Solutions, a high-tech company founded in 2012, announced today a partnership with the Uniontown Public Library to offer an After-School Outreach Program for local elementary students to begin this Fall. TecEng Solutions is committed to supporting the growth of the local community by providing practical opportunities for students to engage in hands-on experience in an attempt to help them discover their interests and realize their potential.
“Students gain knowledge through the experiences afforded to them. There’s an interesting correlation between design/architecture and science, technology, engineering and math. This program is a great way for students to gain exposure to and foster an interest in one or more of those areas,” said Brian Boyle, Vice President of TecEng Solutions.
This partnership further exemplifies TecEng’s dedication to helping provide additional resources and opportunities for students to learn.
As Co-Founder and Vice President for Advanced Acoustic Concepts, Mr. Boyle developed an internship program which resulted in successful opportunities for over 250 students. Mr. Boyle implemented an internship program at TecEng utilizing the same philosophy. “The premise of our internship program is to offer real-world, professional experience and valuable mentoring to students, allowing them to gain insight into how a particular area of interest can translate into a successful career”, said Mr. Boyle. He added, “The program being offered at the library provides a similar experience at the earliest outset for younger students.”
The program will offer students ranging from Second Grade through Fourth Grade a 7-week afterschool program where they can learn about science through hands-on experiences from the Pittsburgh Zoo and the Carnegie Science Center.
“TecEng’s support demonstrates that the Library is a trusted and relevant resource that enables people to learn, to grow and to transform their lives right in their communities. Their generous gift helps local children succeed in school by providing out-of-school learning opportunities,” said Christy Fusco, Director at the Uniontown Library.
Mr. Boyle added, “There’s so much potential to be unleashed from the students in our local schools. Our hope is that students and their parents will realize the advantages of being part of this type of program and will participate.”
