The Pennsylvania Room Open House

On Saturday, November 5, the Pennsylvania Room will host its first Open House. The event will be co-hosted by the Great Meadows Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), who will be on hand to help visitors with their family history research and to discuss membership in the DAR.

The Open House will run from 10AM to 2PM. A program on introductory genealogy will be offered at 11AM by Gail Matus, the Pennsylvania State Membership Chair for the DAR.

This will be the perfect chance to learn about the Pennsylvania Room’s holdings, get advice on the “brick walls” in your research, check out our artifacts, and even take Ancestry Library Edition or for a test drive. (Bring your questions about Fayette County history and your family history!) Light refreshments will be available and visitors will receive genealogy “starter kits.”

This event is open to the public and entirely free. No registration is required — just drop by and see us!
