Do you want to read a
particular book that is on order or checked out? Ask us to reserve
it for you. We'll call you when it's
ready.
Rentals
When the newest fiction books
ordered for the Uniontown Public Library are ready for circulation,
they are placed on the rental shelves that are to your right as you
face the main circulation desk in the main floor library.
For only 15¢ per day, including Sundays and holidays, you can rent
the very latest novel.
If you ask to be placed on a waiting list for a rental book, you
will be called by a staff member as soon as the previous reader on
the list returns it to the library.
Interlibrary Loans
If the Uniontown Public
Library does not have the book, audio book, VHS, or other
information you are looking for, you can request that we borrow it
from another library. This is
called Interlibrary Loan.Request to borrow materials from other libraries by talking to one of our staff members in person or by contacting the library by telephone or mail. The staff can help you locate the item or items you desire. If you want to search some or all of the libraries in the state that participate in the interlibrary loan program on your own, click on this Access Pennsylvania link. There you can select the library type, and/or specific libraries and perform the normal search functions on their circulation listing.
When you find the material you want, call the Uniontown Public Library and we will arrange the loan. The materials will be reserved at our library for you to check out.
Audio cassettes and video cassettes, as well as books, can be borrowed through the interlibrary loan program.
Most loans need to be returned to the Uniontown Library within one month of their arrival so that they can be sent back to the library of ownership.
Perpetual Book Sale
The Friends of the Library has
sponsored a used book sale in the corner of the library in front of
the circulation desk for many years. The selections include donations made to the library and some materials weeded from the collection.
The prices are quite reasonable and there is usually a very large selection.
Materials are added frequently so please check the Perpetual Book Sale often.
All proceeds from the sale are given to the Uniontown Public Library for the purchase of new books or other resources.
