Inquire Within

The Uniontown Public Library is proud to join other libraries in Fayette, Allegheny, Washington, Greene, and Marshall Counties as a partner with PBS and WQED.

In the coming months, the Inquire Within initiative will enhance library programming through the inclusion of PBS content. Events will be geared toward young children and may include premiere screenings of PBS Kids programs, visits by PBS Kids characters, and more.

As longtime providers of entertainment and education alike, PBS and public libraries are uniquely qualified to use media as a teaching tool. In the following ways, Inquire Within aspires to positively impact the learning of children in their out-of-school time:

  • Infuse existing programs with PBS media,
  • Add new and innovative STEM programming, and
  • Support and expand reading programs.

The Uniontown Public Library’s kickoff event will take place on Monday, October 24, 2016 from 6:00PM to 7:00PM. Children will get to make their own masks, decorate cookies, and watch a special screening of The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About Halloween! A printable flyer with more information is available here.

The Inquire Within initiative is supported by Chevron.
